Sean O’Connor joined the T1D Fund in December 2022 and brings experience across strategy consulting and translational biology. Prior to joining the Fund, he worked at Boston Consulting Group, where he supported biopharma and medtech clients on strategic and operational initiatives and led commercial due diligence efforts for private equity investors.

Sean earned his Ph.D. in Biology from The Rockefeller University in the laboratory of Paul Cohen. His research focused on microRNAs in adipocyte metabolism and function, including the identification of the first-described regulator of leptin, a key hormone involved in energy balance.

He received his B.A. in Biochemistry from Occidental College, where he conducted research in inorganic synthetic chemistry.
