Grant Beard, and his wife Susan, have been volunteer leaders with JDRF since their daughter Emily was diagnosed with T1D in 2006 at the age of 14. Grant is a member of JDRF’s International Board of Directors.

Professionally, Grant is Executive Operating Partner, LP & Co-investor at Blue Point Capital Partners, a firm that specializes in buying, improving and building industrial product & service companies. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to Center Rock Capital Partners and serves on the Board of Directors of; TA Systems (Chairman), Advanced Energy Industries (NASDAQ, Chairman), FM Sylvan, Grand Traverse Plastics and Italian Rose Foods.

Prior to joining Blue Point, Grant’s positions included: Chairman of Wynnchurch Industries, Chairman & CEO of Wolverine Advanced Materials, a Wynnchurch Company; President and CEO of Constar International; Partner at The Anderson Group (Private Equity); President & CEO of TriMas Corporation; Chairman, President and CEO of Health Media, Inc., and Group President of Fluid Products within Echlin & Dana Corporations (Auto Products).

Grant earned his M.B.A. and B.S. in Finance from Miami University and a M.A. in International Economics from the University of Detroit.
