Sean O'Connor

Sean joined the T1D Fund in December 2022 as an Associate. Prior to joining the Fund, he worked at the Boston Consulting Group as a Consultant, then Project Leader, supporting Biopharma and MedTech companies across a wide range of strategic and operational projects. At BCG, Sean also conducted commercial due diligences for private equity clients.

 

Sean completed his PhD in Biology at The Rockefeller University in the lab of Paul Cohen. His thesis work focused on the role of microRNAs in adipocyte metabolism and function, identifying the first-described regulator of leptin, an adipose-derived hormone known as the “master regulator” of energy balance. Sean received his B.A. in biochemistry from Occidental College where he did research in inorganic synthetic chemistry.
